AL 6082 vs 7075

Difference between Aluminium 6082 and 7075

Composition

One of the main differences between aluminium 6082 and 7075 is their composition. Aluminium 6082 contains more silicon than 7075, while 7075 contains more zinc. This difference in composition gives each alloy different properties.

Strength

One of the most notable differences between 6082 and 7075 is their strength. Aluminium 6082 is stronger than 7075 in tension, while 7075 is stronger in compression. This difference is due to the different compositions of each alloy.

Uses

Due to their different properties, aluminium 6082 and 7075 are used in different applications. Aluminium 6082 is commonly used in structural applications, while 7075 is commonly used in aerospace applications.

Conclusion:

When choosing between aluminum alloys 6082 and 7075, there are several factors that should be considered before deciding which one will work best for your project or application. Aluminum 6082 offers excellent corrosion resistance combined with low density, while 7075 offers a superior strength-to-weight ratio but comes at a higher cost due to its higher copper content compared to other similar alloys. Ultimately the decision should come down to what type of performance you need from your product and how much you’re willing to spend on materials costs in order to get it!

Big Brake Kits Description

For the construction of the rear composite discs we have used a 350x30mm rotor and maintained the internal drum for the handbrake .The brackets are made from AL6082 and the result was great. If consider that the dimentions of the original discs were 315x30mm and 272x16mm for the rear we can imagine the stoping power upgrade.
